Project Goals & Key Areas

The project "Capabilities of a smart village" will provide support to teachers and other educational staff of the Elementary school of Mijat Stojanović. The goal is to improve teaching skills and competencies in the STEM field and active citizenship.

The project "Capabilities of a smart village" was designed to contribute to the strengthening of the human potential of the educational staff at the Primary school of Mijat Stojanović in Babina Greda. The main goals are encouraging development and improving teaching skills and competencies in STEM field and active citizenship in cooperation with Project Partner.

In the project, we aim to popularize STEM focused on students by using innovative methods of access and activities through the revised curricula of three extracurricular activities: Technical Culture Club, Young Scientists Club and Volunteer Club. The project Promoter is the Elementary School "Mijat Stojanović" Babina Greda, and the Project Partner is Brundalen Elementary School from Trondheim, Kingdom of Norway.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Eu Funds decided to fund the project "Capabilities of a smart village" in the amount of EUR 115.950,32 (HRK 875.830,76). The project is funded under the EEA Financial Mechanism Programme 2014-2021 within the call " Improved Skills and Competencies of Teachers and Other Educational Workers in Primary Education". It will be implemented for 12 months. We planned interesting study visits, education programs and webinars through which the teachers and other educational staff will acquire knowledge and skills that will contribute to a better and more innovative approach to their work with students.

Primary school of Mijat Stojanovic is located in rural area that is ranked in first group of underdevelopment index. Because of the absence of necessary infrastructure such as sports hall, students have limited resources for extracurricular activites. That is why it is importmant to enable tracurricular activities such as Tehnical culture club, Young scientists club and Volunteer club. Project „Capabilities of a smart village“ will empower 14 teachers and other school employers in Primary school of Mijat Stojanović. Main goal is to encourage and promote development, to improve education skills and competences in STEM area and develop active citizenship in cooperation with mentoring school of Brundalen from the Kingdom of Norway.
