Tinker Labs
The employees of the “Mijat Stojanović” Elementary School in Babina Greda have completed the final education as part of the “Capabilities of a Smart Village” project – Tinker Labs. The education was intended for biology, chemistry, and geography teachers. As with every education so far, some other interested school staff members also participated.
Together with the leader Tajana Jakuš, the teachers dealt with diverse topics: chemical substances and their properties, pneumatics, hydraulics, magnetism, light, soap making, coordinate systems, dry ice experiments, plant cultivation, and other, all in a fun and creative way. Some of the experiments have already been applied in teaching with students.
Through the 14-hour “Tinker Labs” education, seven teachers and other educational staff members of the “Mijat Stojanović” Elementary School have gained new knowledge and skills in the STEM field. As part of the “Capabilities of a Smart Village” project and this education, equipment and consumables have been procured for the biology and chemistry classroom. With new microscopes, telescopes, didactic games, and other equipment, teachers will surely find it easier to present the material to students in a new and interesting way.
