Open days
As part of the “Capabilities of a Smart Village” project, two Open Days were held on March 28 and April 21, 2023.
On the first Open Day on Tuesday, March 28, we were visited by mentors from Brundalen School and the ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Republic of Croatia. The teachers prepared various workshops with their students: there were activities with younger students with traditional elements, so they presented folk dances and songs, customs related to the celebration of Easter, baked homemade cookies and made all kinds of useful items, and older students chose contemporary topics related to STEM and sustainable development – robot programming, digital interior design, making clothes from recycled materials and newspapers, baking pizza according to the atom model, and more. The event was open to the public, so that day we were visited at the school by external collaborators, employees of schools from the surrounding area, parents of students, former students and other visitors.
On Friday, April 21, 2023, we celebrated School Day, and on that occasion we also held an Open Day in order to show parents, friends and other interested visitors what is being done at our school. This time, visitors could visit and join various workshops, try cookies, make their own chocolate, try their hand at robot programming, assemble a human skeleton, play new board games created by students and their teachers, and much more. The cherry on top was a fashion show where students of “Mijat Stojanović” Elementary School showed what kind of dresses can be made from recycled material and newsprint. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so check out some of the atmosphere on the following forographies!
