Educational robotics and STEAM training

Through the project “Capabilities of a Smart Village” Elementary school “Mijat Stojanović” purchased two LEGO Education Spike Prime sets of robots, and through the “Educational Robotics and STEAM Training” training, the LOCUS Association introduced school employees to the LEGO world. Teachers will incorporate robotics into extracurricular activities, as well as regular classes, and next year the plan is to include students in the First LEGO League competition.

Education in the field of robotics encourages the overall development of the personality in many ways – in addition to technical skills, it also develops social skills, encourages cooperation and teamwork.
The education “Educational robotics and STEAM training” is intended for educational workers in the STEM field, and through it the teachers acquired new knowledge and skills necessary for the use of robotic systems, specifically the LEGO education SPIKE Prime set, the construction and design of various robotic systems, their programming and merging smaller segments into one functional whole.
Teachers of physics, mathematics, informatics and technical culture and other school employees participated in the education under the leadership of the LOCUS Association from Vinkovci.

In addition to having fun using these sets, students will get much more: they will learn the basics of robotics and programming, develop logical and mathematical thinking, learn to cooperate and work in a team, develop empathy, strengthen self-confidence, become more innovative and learn to think and work like real scientists!
