
Webinars with Project Partner
Through the “Capabilities of a Smart Village” project, the “Mijat Stojanović” Elementary School is in regular contact with the partner school Brundalen. By the end of 2022, a total of 4 webinars were held through the Google Meet platform. In addition to staff from Brundalen school, external lecturers with whom the school from Norway cooperates also participated in the webinars.
On October 17, 2022, a webinar was held on the topic “The School of the Future in Norway – and Trondheim – Renewal of subjects and competences 2020” and attendees were told more about the Norwegian educational system, the way schools work, cooperation with other institutions and the progress of recent years and plans for the future. The webinar was led by Mikael Lyngstad, an advisor for early child development and education, whom school staff who visited Trondheim had the opportunity to meet in person.
The theme of the webinar held on November 22, 2022 was “FIRST LEGO LEAGUE SCANDINAVIA – an exciting knowledge and technology competition for children students”, and at the webinar, teacher Kenneth Fossland explained the details of the First LEGO League competition, in which the Brundalen school had an exceptional success last year. This year in November they also participated in the initial competition at the city level, and the participants of the webinar had the opportunity to see footage from the recent competition.
The webinar on “SCIENCE TALENTS – Trondheim Science Center – for high-performing students and students with high learning potential in STEM” held on December 14, 2022, was led by Stian Wannebo, an employee of the Science Center (Vitensenteret). He spoke about the Center’s work, their cooperation with schools and working with gifted students. The webinar featured photos and videos of workshops held at the Center.
By the end of the project, four more webinars are planned. Through those, teachers in Babina Greda will gain insight into the work of the partner institution, the methodology of work and the partner’s experience. Through this activity, teachers learn how to better apply the knowledge gained in STEM subjects and active citizenship, how to better approach gifted students and improve their own practice based on the example of good practice of the partner institution.
